Well, this is something many of the business owners get with a small budging at the corner of their head. But let me tell you, that is an extremely dangerous budging.

Let me tell you what will happen if an SEO goes out:

No new content with precise info
When you stop publishing content, following things go downhill:

  • You stop targeting new terms, which result in fewer keyword rankings and new traffic.
  • The number of links falls coz of no new pages to link to.
  • No incoming new audiences
  • No new content on topics shared on social media
  • Your website gives no reason for a visitor to come back, reducing the quality of your website.

Hence, if you stop creating content, that your website is no longer active as it was and is dying a slow death.

ii. Technical problems
Every website has a handful of technical SEO issues that pop up at unexpected times.
Technical aspects of your site must be in check otherwise you’re calling in the troubles like: 1. Blocking your website with robots.txt. 2. Duplicate content.

When you don’t monitor these things or fix them, they pile up and will create a bigger mess mainly with mobile usability, page speed, AMP and more.

iii. Refresh the pages
Google looks for the new text on your website, and the value it provides
The reason for this is because Google sees the new text and gives it the value.
There are a few ways to refresh the pages. 1. Add FAQs 2. Add backlinks to other articles 3. Adding schema 4. Updating facts 5. Making the text longer 6. Change the page template 7. Adding schema 8. Match with the search intent

When you don’t monitor these things or fix them, they pile up and will create a bigger mess mainly with mobile usability, page speed, AMP and more.

iv. No new pages A new page is no child’s play. Websites should be targeting new key terms and organizing them by segments that are designated based on their goals in the dashboard. And if you stop building pages, it’ll affect your keyword growth momentum.
A new page will pave way for more target specific keywords and targets, increasing the quality score on the page. If you stop creating new pages, you’ll lose the competitive advantage.

v. Bad links When your SEO is not running, backlink profiles will steer out of control and spam links are the one which will shut you down.
1. People steal your website content and keep the links in by accident
2. You get alerts from sites under malware attacks.
3. Competitors try negative SEO on your website At least If you don’t update your disavow file once a month, you are putting your website rankings at risk. The more you do it, the better.
